59-year-old hole-in-one – 18-year-old winner… KPGA embroidered oldest-youngest records

 In the world of sports, age is just a number. Golf is no exception. However, the value of the record set by overcoming the outstanding competitors deserves attention.

Choi Sang-ho (68) left several important records in the Korean Tour of the KPGA (Korea Professional Golf Association). On May 29, 2005, he reached the top at the KT & G Maekyung Open at the age of 50 years, 4 months and 25 days, setting the record for the oldest player to win. Debuting on the KPGA Korean Tour in 1978, he passed the cut at the GS Caltex Maekyung Open on May 5, 2017 at the age of 62 years, 4 months and 1 day, setting the record for the oldest in the division. In 1995, at the age of 40 years, 9 months and 25 days, he was named the oldest recipient of the grand prize.

Shin Yong-jin (59) is the protagonist of the oldest hole-in-one. On April 21, 2016, at the age of 51 years, 7 months and 17 days, he made a hole-in-one in the 17th hole of the first round of the Dongbu Fire Promy Open held at Daeyu Montbert CC. Choi Kwang-soo (63) won the 2005 Gaya Open and the Kolon Hana Bank Korea Open, setting the record for the oldest two wins at the age of 45 years, 7 months and 3 days.
