A total of 2,000 people, including President Yoon, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Park Bo-kyun, and Korea Sports Association President Lee Ki-heung, as well as some 400 national athletes, attended the event, which was held at the Velodrome, a cycling stadium in the Athletes Village.
After the event, President Yoon toured the archery range, weight training center, and medical center in the Jincheon National Training Center to encourage athletes and coaches who are training ahead of the Hangzhou Asian Games in September.
At the archery range, President Yoon tried shooting an arrow himself with the help of Kim Woo-jin and Choi Mi-seon, captains of the national archery team. The first arrow, shot from a distance of 7m, missed the target, but the second attempt reportedly landed between 8 and 9 points.
