Kim Dong-min, 25, claimed his first career victory at the Korea Professional Golf Association (KPGA) KB Financial Live Championship (total prize money: 700 million won), giving the Korean Tour its first winner in six of the seven events held this year.
Kim holed out an eagle on the final hole for a 5-under 67 and a final total of 8-under 280 in the final round of the tournament at the par-72, 7270-yard Northwest Course at Blackstone Golf Club in Icheon, Gyeonggi-do, on Sept. 28.
Kim, who made his debut in 2020 after winning a bronze medal at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta-Palembang, won in just his fourth year on Tour and his 66th start. Kim, who has struggled with his driver, began to turn things around in the second half of last season. He opened the year with a fourth-place finish at the DB Insurance PromiOpen and a second-place finish at the Golf Zone Open in Jeju.
With the 140 million won in prize money, Kim is now second on the money list (338 million won) and first in Genesis points (2351). Lee Jung-hwan is second with 1879 points and Jung Chan-min is third with 1767 points.
